burning file on dvd, endup with changed file names on the dvd?
hi, im using cd burner xp pro 3,
i just burnt a dvd data, but after it came out and i checked using windows explorer, i found that the file names were all renamed (without telling me of cos =( )
eg.
original files:
abc1.avi
abc2.avi
abc3.avi
file in the dvd:
A__1.avi
A__2.avi
A__3.avi
(yes exactly with the underscore)
after reading abit in their forums (their forums is super non-user friendly thats y i had to come here), i think it was cos i changed the file system standard option thing from Joliet to ISO level 1.
qn is, any suggestions to change the file names on the DVD cos they ****! and it would just as **** to re-burn another DVD just because the file titles arent right. but A___1.avi ttiles do nothing to help differentiate the files.. argh!
PS can someone also explain why ISO lvl 1 renames the file so?? i had changed it bcos i was getting an error on a disc and i tot that option might help.
thanks in advance!
oh thanks for the explaination.. thats so stupid.. there are so many files with long titles, why still use ISO lvl1? i mean they sld have done away with the option..
sigh so my dilema is still, to live with it or just burn another one with joliet? i know a dvd-r is not like $100 a pc, but it still bugs me that i had to waste it lol..
