In the ORIGINAL Blues Brothers movie, the one with Dan Akroyd and John Belushi, the Blues Brothers and the band have a concert “gig” in the Palace Hotel Ballroom. Elwood and Jake show up late so Cab Calloway (the REAL person) fills in until they come. The Brothers sneek in because they are on the run from the police and Calloway spots them after singing “Minnie the Moocher.” He points to Murphy Dunne (on the electric organ) to start playing “the song” and says to the crowd, “Now ladies and gentlemen, it is the distinct pleasure of the management to present to you the evening star attration.
